Vintage agfa

Phot of a vintage agfa camera. What this type made desirable (the agfa billy record 8.8) is ofcourse the art deco sides of the camera. There were many, many of these camneras made and alot of them have survived. So surpisingly, you can buy one of these beautiful cameras for about 30-40 dollars.

This is a vintage agfa billy record camera for 120mm rolfilm. It was manufactured from 1933 to 1942 and was a popular German camera. The quality was good, and the prices were reasonable for the time. What this type made desirable (the agfa billy record 8.8) is the art deco sides of the camera. There were many, many of these cameras made and a lot of them have survived. So surprisingly, you can buy one of these beautiful cameras for about 30-40 dollars. Because they were well built, most cameras will probably work. You can order some 120mm film online and start shooting. One thing to pay attention to is the bellows, make sure there is no light leaking through. If there are tiny holes in the bellows , your photos will turn out very ‘lomo’. These holes usually appear in the corners of the bellows. But if you like vintage art deco, it’s also a nice camera just to put in your living room.
