Terms of use
Photo size
Pictures may have any size, but when they lack depth in terms of pixels they can be rejected. Usually, these images are less than 1MB.
Photo quality
Photos have to be of high quality. We want Skitterphoto to be a haven for awesome content. Photos will be rejected when they:
- Are too blurry;
- are too skewed;
- have poor composition;
- have bad focus;
- are badly exposed;
- have no clear subject or are not interesting.
Tags
Photos need to have at least 5 tags. Without tags, pictures will be online but they will be hard to find. When you tag, use words or two word phrases that best describe the subject of your photo.
Explicit content
Explicit content on photos is allowed to a certain extend and will be dealt with at hand by the administrators. Glamorous images are ok, but the site should be suitable for all ages. Same goes for possible profanity, pictures with violence, etc.
Brands
It’s allowed to have brands in pictures as long as a single brand is not the main subject of the image. Objects with brands are allowed as long as they are ‘collateral’. Be aware that images with brands could be removed by administrators when necessary.
Existing art
It’s allowed to have existing art in pictures as long as a single piece of art is not the main subject of the image. Pictures containing existing art are allowed as long as they are ‘collateral’. Be aware that images with existing art could be removed by administrators when necessary.
People
It’s allowed to show people as a main subject on pictures, but we trust and assume you have a model release when you upload the picture. When people can’t be recognised, or when they are in a public crowd, you don’t need a model release. You should be able to present the model release upon request. Please be aware that Skitterphoto waives all responsibility for uploaded content containing portraits. Users that upload portraits should be aware of a person’s rights, and act accordingly.
Illegality of a photo
We assume and trust that the uploader has not broken any laws while creating the photo. In cases it’s proven otherwise, Skitterphoto reserves the right to remove the photo. Please be aware that Skitterphoto waives all responsibility for illegal content creation. Uploaders should be aware of the law, act accordingy and accept accountability.
Origin of the photo
We assume and trust that the uploader either made the picture, or that the uploader has the picture from a trusted source that can be verified. In cases of questions or disputes, we will ask the uploader to provide source information. When the source can’t be verified by the uploader, Skitterphoto reserves the right to remove the photo and remove the uploader from the platform. Photos that were previously published online without a public domain label will be removed by Skitterphoto administrators. We respect image rights.
Watermarks
Watermarks in pictures are not allowed on Skitterphoto. Images with watermarks will be removed by administrators."

When you upload photos to Skitterphoto, it will be published under Creative Commons CC0:
