This factory ‘aardappelfabriek Zuidwending’ closed in the at the end of the seventies, and it’s been like this for most of the time since. It’s rather unique in The Netherlands because usually we demolish buildings without function because of lack of land. This factory is situated in one of the least populated areas of the country, maybe thats the reason why it was left alone. It used to be a factory that processed potatoes into potatoe starch.
It’s also unique that there aren’t any fences, and the building is accesible. This not permitted ofcourse, the land is owned by a scrapyard behind the building. The factory is intact, lot’s of broken windows and the inside is empty, but it’s beautiful from all sides.
