These are cold days at the moment. The world is beautiful and the freezing cold is quite pleasant. It’s better than rain, mud and wind!
This tree may complainn about it’s solitude, but it can’t complain about it’s view!
The road ahead is empty It’s paved with miles of the unknown Whatever seems to be your destination Take life the way it comes, take life the way it is Horizon in the distance So close and yet so far away You shouldn’t be surprised when on arrival The dream has flown away and fears […]
Food is a necessity for us, humans. But there is a big difference between simple potatoes or a treat like this. I shot this photo at a party, and this is what they called ‘High Tea’. Some delicious bites, to go with a cup of tea or coffee. My kind of food.
A piece of art i came across during a exhibition in Groningen. There were several places where local artists had the opportunity to display their creations. This ‘Thinker’ is one of them.
I like these kind of pictures, because there is a lot to see. You have to look at it for a while, before you discovered everything in the picture.
Here you see two items i’d like to photograph while i was in the UK. Beside great architecture, London is also famous because of it’s phone booths and cabs. I had to wait for a while to capture these two in one shot, but here it is.
This statue can be found in London, somewhere around Piccadilly Circus.
A silhouette of a woman, walking by a art object.
Time is on my side, yes it is. Time is on my side, yes it is. Now you all were saying that you want to be free But you’ll come runnin’ back (I said you would baby), You’ll come runnin’ back (like I told you so many times before), You’ll come runnin’ back to me. […]
Some time ago I was in Lisbon and took lots of pictures there. It’s warm and beautiful over there and your camera will love this place.
Kopi Luwak is also known as caphe cut chon (fox-dung coffee) in Vietnam and kape alamid in the Philippines. It is coffee that is prepared using coffee cherries that have been eaten and partially digested by the Asian palm civet, then harvested from its fecal matter. The civets digest the flesh of the coffee cherries […]
This is probably a pingo ruin, a periglacial landform. Whatever that may be!
This is our 8 week old labrador retriever Pepper. It’s alot of fun having a little rascal in the house. You’ll be cleaning all day and she’ll wake you at night but who cares? Just look at this face!
Borkum Großer Light (from German: Großer Leuchtturm, “greater lighthouse”), also known as Borkum Neuer Light (Neuer Leuchtturm, “new lighthouse”), is an active lighthouse on the island of Borkum, Leer district, state of Lower Saxony, Germany. At a height of 197 feet (60 m) it is the twenty-fourth tallest “traditional lighthouse” in the world, as well […]
Taking a picture of someone who is taking a picture of someone else, not being me because I was already taking a picture of someone who is taking a picture of someone.
This is my hometown, Groningen. In my opinion the greatest city of the Netherlands. Ok, i’m biased on this topic. Please visit us, and judge yourself.
This thermometer was found on a smokehouse for eels. The temperature for smoking eels comes precise, but when smoked properly these eels are a real treat.
Bokeh is a lovely part of photography. Lights are a great way to show the bokeh of your lens. In this photo the bokeh is pretty round. I shot this photo with my Nikon 1.4 35mm lens. I love the feeling this lens adds to the photo..
You are the person that is the most important in your life. Take a look in the mirror and treat yourself with a beautiful smile.
If you never tried these small units…please try it when you visit the Netherlands. The small pancakes are a real delicatesse. You won’t regret it.
The beauty is in the details.
This machine is being used to create and smoothen cues. Pool cues can be bought from professional manufactures, but there are still some people with the love for real craftmanship. Custom made pool cues are often a bit more expensive, but when you buy one from a good cue maker you might shoot pool with […]
Working on a recipe for Caprese salad is kind of like working on updating the Beatles’ classic “If I Fell.” It’s so damn near perfect already, where is there to go with it? I started considering what I could do to improve the tomatoes. Maybe I could salt them, then use the liquid drawn off […]
Autumn is behind us now but we had some lovely days ith beautiful colors. I went out a couple of times and got a lotof pictures this year.
Golden sunset is the Nature’s best, So the age with clarity blessed; The dazzling sun blurs the vision, So the youth can’t self envision. Train of thoughts, of battles fought, Many won and a few I lost, Of the victory bouquets got, But the brickbats leave me frost. After the life’s long tiring quest, I […]
I took this photo from an airplane, while the sun was going down. Imagine being a pilot!
There’s probably only one song I know that’s deicated to photography, it’called kodachrome by Simon and Garfunkel: When I think back On all the crap I learned in high school It’s a wonder I can think at all And though my lack of education Hasn’t hurt me none I can read the writing on the […]
The average winter in The Netherlands isn’t very cold, usually it’s right around 0 degrees celsius. This means it’s slippery alot so lots of traffic jams. This morning it took me over an hour to get work, while it’s normally 20 minutes.
Wat out for this guy, it’s a bad guy. He steals candy from the kids and gives it to the monkeys in the zoo.
The World Championships Darts started a couple of days ago. I always was excited to watch this event, especially after Raymond van Barneveld became World Championship. I must be honest that i started to become a real fanatic after Mighty Mike, Michael van Gerwen entered the stage. With his brutal game, he’s very entertaining to […]
This is the Trafalgar Square, named after a famous in from 1805, “Battle of Trafalgar”. This battle took place at the coast of Cape Trafalgar in Spain.
This was a special place for me. The first night in London, and one of the first eye catchers of the evening. The London eye is very famous, and it’s not very hard to see why.
Nothing more to add than a traveller passing by. I shot this photo with low shutter speed. This brought the motion into the photo.
How can you make a photo interesting? For me symmetrics are key. This photo is a good example. I made the photo from outside of the shop, so i wasn’t able to place the shirts on the exact symmetric spot. In this case all the shirts are placed kinda perfect. It helped me a lot […]
